Project overview

The Boassa Village School Project brings quality education to children in underserved communities. The school includes a two-floor classroom building, sanitary facilities, a kitchen, and a reception area, with a focus on inclusive education welcoming children regardless of social background.

The planned design

• Education opportunities for 300 children in Boassa and surrounding areas
• Reducing illiteracy and gender discrimination
• Vocational training in tailoring and computer studies

Progress timeline

Here's where the project stands and what's ahead:

• March 2025 — Construction begins
  Ground is broken in Boassa Village and site work gets underway.
• January 2026 — Foundation completed
  The foundation and ground-floor structure take shape (see the January progress photos below).
• March 2026 — Building rising
  Walls and upper structure under construction — our most recent photos are from this stage.
• 2026 — Finishing & fit-out
  Roofing, sanitary facilities, kitchen, and classrooms completed and furnished.
• 2026–27 academic year — Doors open
  The school welcomes its first 300 students.

Budget

Why this project matters

Boassa Village faces widespread poverty and limited access to educational resources. A safe, nurturing learning environment breaks the cycle of poverty and improves economic prospects for future generations.

This project is led by the Missionary Sisters of the Incarnation (SMI), whose mission includes promoting education, combating illiteracy, and fostering social and spiritual growth in local communities.
